Description & Requirements

The Production Planner will be responsible for scheduling production for one to three departments. This position works with various partners in the business to ensure that the correct supply is available to support production schedules and sales.


Major responsibilities of the position are listed below. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties, assignments, and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of executive management. 

  • Works with Production Managers, Purchasing, Merchandising, Packaging Engineering, Quality Assurance, Distribution, Traffic, and many other departments to ensure the correct supply is available to support production schedules and sales. 
  • Interpreting the master schedule to generate a production schedule for specific production lines.
  • Review financial variances to work orders and reassign costs to appropriate departments and manage the process of identifying substitution components.
  • Other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


  • High school diploma or Associate’s Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years in a MRP based manufacturing and planning environment is required.
  • Strong analytical skills are required to work through complex scheduling issues utilizing inventory and logistics systems, production plans, rough cut capacity analysis, and related operational reports.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of employees.   
  • An in-depth working knowledge of SAP and/or other manufacturing software programs is required.
  • Must be detail oriented to coordinate multiple demands and projects while meeting stringent deadlines with frequent interruptions and changing requirements. 
  • Strong administration skills include typing, filing, and math.
