POSITION SUMMARY

 

We are seeking a detail-oriented HR Data Entry Clerk (Temp) to support our Human Resources team during a busy period. This role is key in ensuring accurate and timely entry of employee information, maintaining HR records, and assisting with compliance and reporting. While there may be occasional payroll-related tasks, the primary focus will be on HR data integrity, compliance, and administrative support.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Major responsibilities of the position are listed below. Other duties, assignments and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of management.

  • Enter and verify employee data into HRIS and payroll systems accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain employee personnel files and ensure documentation is complete and compliant
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, labor laws, and confidentiality standards
  • Support HR and Payroll teams with audits, reporting, and file management
  • Handle employee data corrections, updates, and documentation requests
  • Collaborate with HR Operations to ensure timely processing of new hires, terminations, and status changes
  • Provide administrative support to HR staff as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Experience in HR data entry, HR operations, or administrative support preferred
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms (ADP experience a plus)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy
  • Knowledge of HR compliance practices (I-9 verification, confidentiality, recordkeeping) is a plus
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Human Resources Fundamentals – Understanding of HR functions such as talent acquisition, performance management, and compliance.
  • People Analytics Concepts – Basic familiarity with metrics like headcount, turnover, diversity, and workforce trends.

  • Data Governance – Understanding of data accuracy, privacy, and security best practices in an HR context.
  • Reporting Tools – Awareness of business intelligence tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.

  • Data Analysis – Ability to work with datasets using tools like Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables), Google Sheets, or SQL.
  • Communication – Strong written and verbal skills to clearly present insights and document processes.
  • Technical Documentation – Ability to create clear SOPs, testing logs, and user guides for HR systems.
  • Problem-Solving – Aptitude for identifying issues in data or systems and suggesting improvements. 
  • Collaboration – Ability to work effectively with HR, and other business partners on cross-functional projects.

  • Concentrated mental and/or visual attention. The work involves performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination for sustained periods.
